President Joe Biden’s campaign for reelection is off to a slow start, with only two full-time staffers who have been publicly announced, and a lack of fundraising events, after failing to report funding totals, according to Axios.
The Biden campaign manager, Julie Chávez Rodríguez, has not officially started her job and will remain out of the decision-making loop for another two weeks, as she is still working for the administration.
The campaign has also failed to report fundraising totals and has no official fundraising team leader. Bloomberg reports that the sluggish fundraising is due to a lack of coordination between the campaign and large Democrat donors, and some donors were not even asked for money on the first day of the campaign.
The Biden campaign’s failure to properly launch has resulted in it relying on the scandal-ridden Democrat National Committee for funding, according to reports.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump’s campaign is growing stronger by the day, with huge fundraising numbers and soaring popularity in the polls.
Jason Miller, senior adviser to Trump, announced that the campaign’s fundraising soared by $7 million just after news of his April indictment. In the first quarter, Trump raised $18.8 million. Polling also shows Trump leading Biden in a general matchup by three to five points.
The ability to raise campaign funds is crucial for a successful campaign. It allows campaigns to purchase advertisements, hold events, and hire staff. Trump’s strong fundraising numbers gave his campaign a significant advantage in these areas, allowing him to run an extensive and well-funded campaign. The sluggish fundraising of the Biden campaign put them at a disadvantage.
Ultimately, the ability to raise campaign funds is a crucial factor in any election. It allows campaigns to reach voters, spread their message, and ultimately win votes. Trump’s strong fundraising performance during the 2020 election cycle gave him a significant advantage over and continues to be very strong.
